Biography
Javier Mollinedo is the Aquaponics Coordinator at the University of Hawaii Maui College, where he leads research on sustainable food systems. Since joining in 2019, he has overseen the aquaponics research farm, working with small farmers to promote food security in Hawaii. In 2023, he began collaborating with the Hawaii Farmers Union United through the Climate-Smart Partnership.
A strong advocate for holistic systems thinking, Javier emphasizes the importance of viewing food production and environmental sustainability as interconnected. Prior to this, he served as a research associate at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
