Biography

Shamim Ahamed is an Assistant Professor at the University of California, Davis, leading the Controlled Environment Engineering Lab. His research focuses on achieving net-zero food production through Controlled Environment Agriculture, which includes greenhouses, vertical farms, and livestock barns. He specializes in optimizing HVACD, lighting, and hydroponic systems to precisely control indoor climates, ensuring sustainability and efficiency. His work also addresses automated fault detection in these systems.

By advancing energy-efficient solutions, Shamim aims to enhance the economic viability of indoor agriculture while reducing its environmental footprint.
